Our Journey
Beekeeping has been in our blood for 3 generations, ever since my grandfather, Fred Payne, started keeping bees way back in 1922. The Payne family has been involved in bees ever since and I'm lucky to have grown up being so deeply involved in the journey all my life.

Roger Payne
Roger is a 3rd generation bee farmer having been beekeeping since he was a young boy learning off his dad, uncle and grandparents. Beekeeping is in his blood! He has decades of beekeeping experience under his belt, looking after 1500 hives amongst other roles in the family business at one point. Although now looking for a slightly quieter life, the hive numbers and workload have decreased he still loves nothing more than spending his time with his head in a hive. But despite all that experience he is always keep to keep learning and improve on his knowledge
Becky Payne
With over ten years beekeeping experience, Becky is at her happiest when she’s outdoors. Having run a queen rearing unit for several years now grafting thousands of queens a year, this is where Becky’s skills and knowledge come into play and grafting queen cells and raising our home bred queens is one of her favourite aspects of beekeeping. Becky says she finds it so rewarding and satisfying and for us as a small business we want to be as sustainable as possible. She is always happy to talk bees to anyone that wants her to!
